SOLD!   Here is a build of my favorite B monster movie, "The Monolith Monsters" (1957). The story concerns a meteor that crashed to Earth and grows prodigiously when exposed to water. I know it sounds stupid but the story actually works. Oh, i should mention that if you come in contact with the substance, you slowly petrify as well. Grant Williams (of The Incredible Shrinking Man) plays the young geologist trying to figure what is happening in his small town and how to stop it. Lovely Lola Albright is the love interest with the indomitable Les Tremanye as the jaded newspaperman.  The effects (though obviously miniatures) are pretty good considering and the sound track is engaging.

Anyway, this was another kit I picked up on EBay and, to be frank, it was kind of ho hum. I decided to copy a scene from the film as the crashing pillars of stone obliterate a farm in its path. I scratch built the barn but the house was a Z scale structure I picked up on eBay. The photo to the right is of the original kit.

I've inserted a brief slideshow of my version below.

I used a photo editor to get the black & white version of this kit since the film was originally released in black & white.

Nicely done! And yes, the movie is a surprisingly effective sci-fi flick.
