The Battle For Colossa

Another kit I've constructed is related to The 7th Volage of Sinbad but depicts a scene that didn't occur in the film. The kit is called "Battle Of Colossa" and its a real beauty. It shows two Cyclops fighting the Dragon from the film protcting its eggs. Again, this is a BIG kit, measuring about 15" wide X 13" deep. The highest point is a single horned Cyclops with a raised club which brings the height in around 11 inches.

It also comes with a scale Sukorah figure holding the genie's lamp but I chose not to use him. The ony 'adds' of mine to the scene was a small piece of smoky quartz at the mound that the two horned Cyclops is being mauled.

One note about the film (and this sculpture) is that as far as I know, it is the only time you actually see two monsters of the same type in a film. Usually, the monster (or dinosaur for that matter) are solitary antagonists in the story line and once dispatched, everyone's problems are solved. Not so in Voyage and thankfully for the viewer because who could get enough of the raging Cyclops, striding across the screen in pursuit of Sinbad and his men?
