Sideshow's Bernie Wrightson's Frankenstein

~SOLD!~ Here is a HUGE vinyl kit by Sideshow Inc based on Bernie Wrightson's graphic novel "Frankenstein". This kit came out about 1996 and to the best of my knowledge, is no longer available although they turn up on eBay from time to time.

The kit is fairly staight forward but does requre a lot of trimming which is easy once you warm up the plastic with a hair dryer or submerge it in hot water. The hardest part is the two piece base sections which came warped in my kit. I straightened them out (sorta) with a dozen wood screws and a wood underlayemnt to help keep it flat. The painting instructions are the best I have seen and if you follow the tips provided on shading and the like, you can't go wrong. Though they suggest using AC glue for this kit, my favorite adhesive is 5 minute epoxy for both vinyl and resin.

Once completed the kit stands about 13 inches tall and the irregular 'wooden' plank floor is roughly 14 inches on a side. As is my nature, I added a few more items of interest like blue and brown eyeballs in trays, drawings & writing on the some of the book and papers, blood...you know, the usual stuff. To give it that extra 'something', I installed flickering blue LEDS inside the pair of generator domes in the rear to add to the 'mad lab' look.  SOLD!
