Attack of The B Movie Monsters Clock

~SOLD!~ Here is an interesting time piece from Earthbound Studies called 'Attack Of the B Movie Monsters' that I have just completed. The selection of creatures, each of which is an hour on the clock's face, harkens back to golden age of B monster movies, ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous.

The line up, starting at 12 o'clock is “The War of the Colossal Beast” (1958), “The She Creature” (1956), “The Monster of Piedras Blancas” (1959), “The Hideous Sun Demon” (1958), Mutant from Metaluna in “This Land Earth” (1955), “Fiend Without A Face” (1958), “I Was A Teenage Werewolf” (1957), “I Was A Teenage Frankenstein” (1957), “I Married A Monster From Outer Space” (1958), “Invasion Of The Saucer Men” (1957), “The Mole People” (1956) and, finally, “Night (aka Curse) of the Demon” (1957).

It's amazing to think all these films came out within a four year period but Hollywood was seriously trying to compete with television in those days and these type of films were the typical line up at your local drive-in. Most of these films are too silly (and quite dull in some cases) to be taken seriously although my personal fav made the cut, “Fiend Without A Face”. Of the twelve, I don't think the Mutant from Metaluna truly falls into a 'B' movie category since it was regarded as the 'Star Wars' of its day. Still, it is nice bust to add to the collection.

Anyway, this 12” diameter clock is no longer available though they turn up from time to time on eBay or at sci-fi conventions. The real work in this build is the painting although there are a handful of parts that have to be attached such as teeth, horns and the like. The battery powered clockwork is included.

I should mention that this very nice sculpt is by Rocco Tortamello and the cast was extremely clean. Each head is about the size of an egg. There were two other clocks in the collection, one based on Ray Harryhausen creatures and the other on Universal's classic monsters which, again. turn up on eBay from time to time but they go fast. 4/20/2018  SOLD!

It WAS produced by Black Heart Enterprises but no more. They show up on eBay so if you make a 'Black Heart Enterprises' or 'Monster Clock' you might get lucky. Obviously, you have to win the auction.
