A close up of the Yithian's three eyed head.
I went back and forth on what color scheme to use for this kit. The box art was very nice but I thought is mirrored the Komoda Nyarlathotep palette a bit too much so I went with more earth tones than iridescents. I decided to paint the tentacled head
separately so I kept it aside and didn't attach to its neck piece until the whole figure had been painted. This was a good decision because I had attached the four appendages before I began painting in order to maintain a consistency in the overall color scheme
which proved to be a somewhat awkward undertaking but I got through it with out too much trouble.
The man figure (presumably of the main character in the story, Nathaniel Peaselee) detail was average for a figure this size. I used medium gray for his
suit, blue neck tie, brown shoes and white hair.
This kit was a fun to build and though a bit pricey (to me at least), it would be a fine addition to your Lovecraft mythos menagerie. You can read more about this story by going to this Wikipedia
link (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Shadow_Out_of_Time ) but I would recommend just reading the story out right. If you have never read any of Lovecraft's fiction, this is probably
a good a place as any to start. Enjoy. 3/20/20
